fitting instructions
All our upholstered headboards are made with an inset back.
This means that when you mount your headboard there will only ever be a small gap between the back of the headboard and the wall.
We offer three ways of fixing the headboard to the bed:
Wooden Struts and Wall Mounting Combined
1. Traditional mounting struts
As standard, all of our headboards come pre fitted with the strut legs (unless you order a Wall Mounting Pack). The struts are secured to the headboard and then slide over the mounting bolts that are already located on your bed. We make our own strong MDF struts designed specifically for our headboards.
Fitting Instructions:
When the headboard arrives with you, the struts will be folded up against the headboard and secured by the top set of screws.
Using the Allen Key provided, you will have to loosen the top screws, swing the struts down into position and fit the second bolt. We recommend that you leave all screws slightly loose to allow leeway whilst you slide the struts over the back of your divan base.
Once the headboard and struts are in place over the mounting bolts on the back of your bed, tighten up the screws.

2. Wall Mounting
We recommend Wall Mounting Packs for our taller headboards. Your headboard will be fitted with the wall retaining brackets, and the matching brackets are supplied for you to fix on the wall. A Wall Mounting Pack costs an additional £19.00, if you would like to buy one, click here.
It is a simple DIY job and when complete all you do is hang the headboard on the brackets supplied. Fitting instructions are provided with your headboard.

Please note that if you choose to wall mount your headboard and you have plasterboard walls, you must ensure that you use plugs/fixings that are appropriate for your wall. For our recommended Plasterboard Wall Mounting Fixings, click here.
Alternatively, if you decide after receiving your headboard that you wish to fix it to the wall, we can send out a Retro Fit Wall Mounting Pack (postage £5.00). All of our headboards are pre fitted with T Nuts to accept the hexagonal bolts supplied. You will have to attach the wall retaining brackets onto your headboard, and also fit the two wall brackets with the plugs and screws supplied onto your wall. 3. Combination of Wall Mounting and Slats
A combination of Wall Mounting and Bespoke Mounting Slats works really well for larger headboards.
The main weight sits on the bedroom floor. The slats we provide are made to measure and are adjusted to the correct height, enabling the headboard to be mounted on the wall with the base of the headboard "resting" on the mattress. Our wall retaining brackets ensure the headboard is held firmly in place and secure.
If you would like Bespoke Slats please give us a ring on 01291 628246. They cost an additional £15.00
