These days, mattresses are so good that all of the comfort comes from the mattress.\u00a0\u00a0Imagine that our platforms are very similar to the top of a sturdy divan bed base, without the boxy structure underneath.<\/p>\n<h1>Which mattresses are suitable for a platform bed base?<\/h1>\n<p>All mattress types are suitable for use with our platform bed bases.\u00a0 We especially recommend our <a href=\"\/60-mattresses\">Sark Mattress<\/a> for a nightly five star hotel experience in your own home.<\/p>\n<h1>How are the platforms constructed?<\/h1>\n<p>Each platform is constructed by our team in the workshop.\u00a0 The main component is strong, sustainable sourced 18mm plywood.\u00a0 This is then wrapped in a dacron wadding and again with a high quality black cloth, finished beautifully on the corners.\u00a0 The platforms are a snug fit to the bed base.<\/p>\n<h1>How are the platforms supported?<\/h1>\n<p>The platforms drop into a recess in the bed side and foot rails and are supported by steel cross beams.<\/p>\n<h1>How many platforms will I receive?<\/h1>\n<p>A single bed will have one platform, any bed size bigger than single will have two.\u00a0 This feature is especially important in helping prevent access issues on delivery and allows us to provide a convenient modular assembly for getting larger beds into smaller rooms.<\/p>\n<h1>Is a platform bed base strong and durable?<\/h1>\n<p>Yes, Our fully upholstered beds are built to accept the strong platforms provided and are supported by steel cross beams with a central floor standing foot for extra support.<\/p>\n<h1>How are your platform beds delivered?<\/h1>\n<p>All of our platform based upholstered beds are delivered in components, of which the head end is usually the largest single piece.\u00a0 This makes it easy to access your property and room of choice and makes the beds easier to handle, move and even remove if you move home.<\/p>\n<h1>Will you assemble my bed on delivery?<\/h1>\n<p>Yes.\u00a0 Our delivery team will take your bed to your room of choice and assemble it fully for you and take away their wrappings for recycling for your convenience and leave you to enjoy your new bed.\u00a0 If you would like to decline this service, you can.\u00a0 In this instance, the delivery team will leave the bed with you and return the outer bags to us for reuse.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h1>Can I swap my platforms for a slatted base?<\/h1>\n<p>Sorry, no.\u00a0 The system that holds up the platforms can not be adapted to suit a third party slatted platform.\u00a0 The fittings and cross beams the support our solid platforms are unique to our products.<\/p>\n<h1>How do I self assemble an upholstered bed with a platform base?<\/h1>\n<p>If you would like to assemble your bed, it is fairly straight forward and we have a video here:<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div><div class=\"et_pb_row et_pb_row_1\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_column et_pb_column_4_4 et_pb_column_1  et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough et-last-child\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_module et_pb_video et_pb_video_0\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":"<p>What is a platform bed base?
