There’s nothing better than your own bed…our favourite place! Buying a mattress is always odd as you need your own pillow to feel truly comfortable and even though we take our pillow on each holiday we never didn’t take it to Dreams. Although we did buy the mattress based on the recommendation from the bed that gives you a report. Today I am going to have a bath and invade the boys’ bathroom – our fabulous cleaner came yesterday so I should be safe! This is the only bath we have in the house. I’m a bath ? person all the way so would have loved a bath in our en suite, but it’s so small we couldn’t fit one in ? but, as I have this beauty, all is not lost ? the bath is painted in Card Room Green from @farrowandball with tiles from @firedearthuk. The chair is a real indulgence – the boys have been warned about stray toothpaste!! It can be hard to find chairs with small dimensions, this is the Itton from @theheadboardworkshopuk covered in stripes from @susiewatsondesigns (although admittedly, it looks huge here, as in the foreground – it’s less than 60cm at it’s widest point).

Loft Bedrooms can be tricky to design with dwarf walls, slopes and eaves space. Creating a luxurious feel and maximising storage space was our brief for the Master Bedroom. The custom built wardrobes were cleverly built around the chimney breast (swipe <<) and to create interest, I added texture with the oversized, upholstered headboard and brass table lamps. As you can see the Cow Parsley has crept into the bedroom but in my defence doesn’t it suit a bedroom? . This year I’m going to be growing Ammi Majus from seed and if you like cow parsley then you will definitely like this. It has lacy white flowers, like cow parsley but is just a little more delicate. It’s one of my favourites and can be used as a filler in bouquets or just on its own in a vase. This little laddie napped well enough for me to undercoat the railings today and I’m hoping he’ll do the same tomorrow so I can get the first layer of topcoat on in between chocolate gorging. I did find myself taking a seat on the chair in the corner of this room yesterday, just to soak up the morning rays. It’s been a while since we’ve seen that sun so thought I shouldn’t ignore the opportunity????☀️ . This chair is my husband’s, it was passed down to him from his mum, who had it passed down to her by her mum. It even has dog teeth marks on the legs from when my husbands dog Sam was going through his puppy chewing phase. When we had it restored the french polisher asked if we would like them polished out but we both said no, didn’t feel right to remove these memories???? . I wish I was able to take a seat here today but unfortunately I’m on hedge planting duties – I’m planting some new hedging down the side of a fence in an attempt to disguise it. So I’ve got this thing with Pom Poms. It started with a pom pom trim on some curtains, which then led to other soft furnishings being subjected to an addition of a pom-pom or two. Nothing was really safe, so you can imagine my delight when I discovered the Avignon bed linen range by @thewhitecompany ???? . As you can see I released my Pom Pom obsession on this bed linen, nothing apart from the bed sheet is without one. One of my favourite rooms in our house has to be our guest bedroom. It’s one of those rooms I instantly feel calm in and if I ever have any problems getting off to sleep, off here I retreat to ????It’s not quite finished and I’m looking forward to popping two small chests of drawers either side that @maisieshouse has found and will be painting for me. I’m going to start top down with photos of our completed cottage project. This is one of two top floor twin bedrooms (which my youngest daughter has decided would be hers!). Both of the loft bedrooms have zip and link single/superking beds to give maximum flexibility in what will be a rental property. We potentially have friends staying over at the weekend so I thought I would be super organised and ensure the spare bedroom is ‘guest ready’. ???????????? . One of the things I love about this time of year is being able to go out and bring a bunch of summer flowers back in from the garden. I don’t know whether these ones will last until the weekend but I do hope so – they have brought such an added calmness to the room.???????? . I went to a wedding on Saturday, thought I was Beyoncé in homecoming and woke up on Sunday barely able to move ????. It’s only today that I’m feeling slightly less whiplashed and my legs have recovered from the 4” heels. With my newfound mobility I have managed to mount my sexy Roman bust plate on my side of the bed (hubby gets Aphrodite staring down at him) and dress the plant in her new woven home which was a steal at the MG sample sale. SPLURGE V STEAL: I have an extravagant and new little mate who hangs out next to my bed wearing over the top flower headdresses, seen hear rocking some tulips. The best thing about him is that he was just one British pound from @poundland. Swipe to see his prettier but 32 times more expensive cousin from @audenzahome. How many of you sometimes feel indecisive? I had a lot of to-ing and fro-ing when it came to this room and decided to go dark even though it’s at odds with the rest of the house. But I love it and it’s the best decision we made ???? . . I’ve finally hung the iris watercolours which I had reframed MONTHS ago, one was even a wedding gift so I’m embarrassed to admit that it’s been waiting for its five minutes of fame for over two years. Mission of the day is to mount this original iris watercolour that I bought for £10 in a charity shop in Eastbourne. I love the cornflower blue, it brings some much needed energy into the otherwise muted palette. SO excited to finally share with you more details on the hotel project I have been working on. . . . These are the furniture and sample boards for each bedroom at @angleseyhotel in Gosport. I wanted all of the schemes to relate, but each to have their own little twist. . . . . Day 4 of 5, celebrating some of the unique and exciting projects in the past 10 years of LPID. This Hampshire home, which was previously single storey, underwent a grand transformation to provide a new guest wing and master suite opening out onto beautiful gardens. I worked with this Alton family to produce full schemes for each of the new rooms and proposals for the existing bedrooms also. Feature wallpapers in soft sweeping designs are layered up with elegant materials such as glass and mirror to give an overall feeling of modern luxury. This was the Master Bedroom and such a beautiful jewel in the crown of the whole project! I used a soft colour scheme of gentle mauve’s with warm notes of rich plum and classic dove grey. Once again this project is so memorable for me not just because of the high standard of finish but because of the truly lovely family it was all for. #hampshireinteriordesigner #timelessclassicbedroom #luxuriousbedroom #theheadboardworkshop #neptune #albanywallpapers #featurewallpaper
