The leaves are turning, the nights are drawing in … Autumn 2018 is here.
Throw another log on the fire, snuggle down and be inspired by our 4 point easy guide to combining the best of this seasons interior trends in your bedroom by incorporating these trend setting ideas into a show stopping headboard.
Statement Sized Florals.
Romantic ditsy patterns are making way for bold, oversized floral murals. If you’ve opted for some high fashion floral wall treatment, we’d suggest choosing a matching block colour for your headboard.
Looking for a particular colour? We’ve got you covered. Laura, our in house design guru has access to more fabrics than you can imagine. You are most welcome to use Laura’s talents by sending her a snippet of your wallpaper for matching. Laura will send you the colours and textures she thinks will work well.
Similarly, if the wall is plain, a large and exciting shaped headboard can take a beautiful large floral patterned fabric and turn it into a masterpiece. Headboards like our Super King Eigg Headboard and Super King Rhum Headboard are designed to show off a stunning fabric to it’s best. Pair one of these headboards with a plain upholstered bed to match (The Headboard Workshop has lots to choose from – see the range here) for a dramatic effect.
Modern Neutrals.
Always in fashion and always timeless. This season’s must have colours include ‘ Silver Birch’, ‘Chamois’ and ‘Swedish Grey’. We’ve made sure the best of these tones featured in our 2018 fabric update and they are delicious!
Gold.
Almost all the displays we’ve seen this year use gold. A beautiful way to add detail. Used in the right places, as an accent, the use of gold accessories in your bedroom give off a feeling of warmth and opulence. As a result, your bedroom is made even cosier by the dimly lit evenings and feelings of early Winter Hygge.
Introduce gold into your headboard design by opting for a contrast piping in a gold hue. Top end looks include Antique gold studs which we can add to your headboard for a touch of metallic detail.
Something Blue?
Dark blue. Think midnight blue, navy and squid ink teamed by a vibrant, autumnal coppers and mustards contrast fabrics . This is a trend that has really caught our eye.
Luckily, the newest fabric selection on offer this season from The Headboard Workshop include these must have colours.
Options include contrast buttons, contrast piping and even borders as seen on our ever popular Ghia Headboard.
Most noteworthy is our Metallic Ground Navy Fabric. It has the added interest of being shot through with a subtle metallic gold thread which combines not only the trend for dark blues, but also the gold and metallic element that we all love so much.
